Gynecology and Obstetrics

Gynecology consultation

Why is this visit important? The gynecological consultation is the cornerstone of women’s health. At IREGCI, we believe this annual visit shouldn’t be a source of stress, but rather a safe and trusting experience. Its main objective is prevention: detecting any alterations in the reproductive system early, before they become a bigger problem, as well as clarifying any doubts about sexuality, menstruation, and hormonal changes.

What happens during a consultation at IREGCI?

Our assessment is comprehensive and tailored to the age and needs of each patient, but generally includes:

Medical Interview (Anamnesis):

Areas of Focus At IREGCI we address all stages of a woman's life:
  • Adolescence: The first visit, questions about menstruation, and sex education.
  • Reproductive Age: Counseling on contraception (IUDs, pills, implants), infection management, and family planning.
  • Perimenopause and Menopause: Management of hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and osteoporosis prevention.
  • Common Conditions: Diagnosis and treatment of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), Endometriosis, HPV, and bleeding disorders.

Your Well-being is Our Priority. We understand that privacy is sensitive. That's why at IREGCI we guarantee a warm, respectful, and strictly confidential approach. Our commitment is that you leave your appointment feeling at ease, with clear information, and the assurance that your health is under control.

Obstetrics Consultation (Prenatal Care)

Expert support for a new life. Pregnancy is one of the most transformative and exciting stages in a woman’s life. At IREGCI, we understand prenatal care as much more than a series of medical visits; it is a system of monitoring and protection designed to care for the mother’s health and ensure the baby’s optimal development from conception to birth.

What does Prenatal Care at IREGCI consist of?

Our consultations are periodic and evolve according to the stage of pregnancy:

Comprehensive Maternal Assessment:

At each visit, we closely monitor the mother’s health: weight checks, blood pressure monitoring (to prevent preeclampsia), and lab tests to rule out anemia, urinary tract infections, or gestational diabetes. Your well-being is your baby’s home, so we take care of you first.

We use cutting-edge technology to watch your child grow. During appointments, we listen to the fetal heartbeat (a magical moment for parents), measure uterine growth, and perform specialized ultrasounds to evaluate the baby’s anatomy, position, amniotic fluid levels, and placental condition.

Our team is trained to identify any risk factors early (High-Risk Pregnancy). If any complications arise, we have medical protocols in place to manage them and protect the pregnancy until term.

Childbirth Education and Preparation Your appointment is also your learning space. At IREGCI we take the time to:
  • Answering your questions: What can I eat? Can I exercise? Is this pain normal?
  • Planning your birth: We’ll discuss your expectations for childbirth (natural or cesarean), explaining the processes transparently and respectfully.
  • Warning signs: We’ll teach you how to identify when you should go to the emergency room.

Our Commitment We know that every week counts. Our goal is to reach the finish line together: a healthy mother and a strong baby in her arms. At IREGCI, we approach each pregnancy with the same enthusiasm and responsibility as you, providing you with the medical peace of mind you need to enjoy this special time.

3D and 4D Sonography and Ultrasound

More than a medical examination, an unforgettable experience. Technology has transformed pregnancy monitoring, allowing us to break the barrier of imagination. At IREGCI, we offer 3D and 4D Ultrasound, a high-definition examination that allows expectant parents to see their child’s facial features and observe their movements in real time, long before birth. It’s the moment when the emotional bond becomes visible.

What is the difference between 3D and 4D?

Although both ultrasound technologies allow us to see the baby with volume and realism (skin color), they have different functions:

3D Sonography (Static Image):

It allows us to obtain still images with three-dimensional volume. It’s like taking a high-quality photograph of the baby’s face or body, allowing us to clearly see their features, nose, mouth, and cheeks.

This is where the fourth dimension comes into play: time. This ultrasound technology allows us to see the baby on video in real time. You can see if they yawn, suck their thumb, smile, or open their eyes, creating an immediate and profound emotional connection.

Diagnostic Value and Safety Beyond the joy of seeing their little face, these studies are valuable medical tools for our IREGCI specialists. They allow us to perform a more detailed superficial anatomical evaluation to confirm normality or detect abnormalities in:
  • Face: Screening for cleft lip or palate.
  • Spine: Assessment of vertebral and skin integrity.
  • Extremities: Counting and examining hands, feet, and fingers.

When is the ideal time? To get the best images (that “perfect picture”), we recommend having this ultrasound between weeks 26 and 30 of pregnancy. During this period, the baby is the right size and surrounded by enough amniotic fluid, making it easier to get a clear and beautiful view of its features.

At IREGCI, we turn medical technology into a lifelong memory, giving you the peace of mind of knowing your baby is okay and the joy of seeing them for the first time.

Mastology: Comprehensive Breast Health and Care

Prevention and peace of mind for women. Mastology is the medical specialty dedicated to the study of the mammary glands. At IREGCI, we know that your breast health is a priority and often a source of concern. That’s why we offer a preventative and compassionate approach, designed not only to detect cancer early but also to effectively treat the many benign conditions that can affect your well-being.

What does our Mastology service cover?

Our team of specialists is responsible for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of any alteration in breast tissue.

Early Detection (Screening):

Breast cancer is highly curable if detected in its early stages. At IREGCI, we design your annual check-up plan based on your age and family history, combining:

  • Clinical Examination: Expert palpation performed by a specialist.
  • Diagnostic Imaging: Mammogram interpretation (essential from age 40 onward) and breast ultrasound (for women with dense breasts or younger women).
  • Self-Examination Training: We educate you so you know your body and can identify any changes between appointments.

It’s important to know that most lumps or pains are not cancerous. In our practice, we frequently treat benign conditions such as:

  • Fibroadenomas and Cysts: Solid or fluid-filled nodules very common in young women.
  • Mastalgia: Cyclical breast pain related to hormonal changes.
  • Mastitis: Infections or inflammations, very common during breastfeeding or due to non-postpartum causes.
  • Nipple Discharge: Evaluation of fluids to rule out problems in the ducts.

If we detect any suspicious images, we have the capability to perform image-guided percutaneous biopsies (with a fine or core needle). This procedure is quick, minimally invasive, and allows us to obtain an accurate diagnosis to determine the appropriate treatment without unnecessary delays.

A Multidisciplinary Approach At IREGCI, you're never alone. We work closely with gynecologists, oncologists, and radiologists to offer you comprehensive care. Whether it's for a routine checkup that brings you peace of mind or to address a complex diagnosis, our commitment is to care for you with the best technology and the utmost compassion.

Vaginal Ozone Therapy: Solution for Recurrent Infections

An innovative alternative when conventional treatments fail. Vaginal ozone therapy is a cutting-edge therapeutic procedure that utilizes the biological properties of medical ozone (O3) to treat infectious and inflammatory gynecological conditions. At IREGCI, we have incorporated this technique as an effective solution for patients suffering from “refractory vaginitis,” that is, infections that constantly recur despite repeated use of traditional antibiotics or antifungals.

How does medical ozone work?

Ozone is a gas with a powerful, broad-spectrum germicidal effect. When applied to the vaginal mucosa, it acts through three key mechanisms:

Direct Antimicrobial Action:

It destroys the cell wall of bacteria, fungi (such as Candida) and viruses, eliminating them effectively without generating resistance, unlike drugs.

It reduces tissue inflammation, relieves burning and chronic itching, and stimulates the regeneration of vaginal mucosa damaged by constant infections.

By oxygenating the tissue, it promotes the growth of lactobacilli (good bacteria), restoring the natural pH and defenses of the intimate area.

Who is this treatment indicated for? Ozone therapy is especially useful in complex cases where conventional medicine reaches its limits:

Recurrent Candidiasis: For women who experience vaginal yeast infections several times a year.

  • Chronic Bacterial Vaginosis: Bacterial infections (such as Gardnerella) that cause unpleasant odor and persistent abnormal discharge.
  • Adjuvant Treatment for HPV and Herpes: Helps improve local immunity and heal lesions.
  • Vaginal Atrophy: Improves lubrication and elasticity in postmenopausal women.

What is the procedure like at IREGCI? It’s an outpatient technique, quick and completely painless. It’s performed in the office by inserting a very thin and delicate probe through which medical ozone flows in controlled concentrations. It requires no anesthesia or recovery time; the patient can resume her normal activities immediately.

At IREGCI, we use Ozone Therapy to break the cycle of disease and give you back the intimate comfort and quality of life you deserve, free from chronic discomfort.

Laser Surgery for Cervical Pathology

Innovation for your intimate health. Laser treatment (CO2 or Diode) represents the most significant advancement in the management of lower genital tract lesions. At IREGCI, we use this minimally invasive technique to effectively treat alterations of the cervix, vagina, and vulva, avoiding aggressive surgeries and allowing for a near-immediate recovery.

What do we treat with laser?

This technology is the “gold standard” for managing various conditions, primarily those related to the Human Papillomavirus (HPV):

Pre-malignant lesions (Dysplasias/CIN):

Treatment of Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia (CIN 1 and some cases of CIN 2) by removing the altered cells before they can progress.

Precise removal of visible lesions caused by HPV on the vulva, vagina or cervix, with a superior aesthetic result compared to chemicals or surgery.

Treatment of exposed glandular tissue on the cervix that causes constant discharge or bleeding during intercourse. The laser “vaporizes” this tissue and promotes healthy and permanent healing.

How does the procedure work? (Vaporization) Unlike traditional surgery (conization with a scalpel) that cuts tissue, the laser works by vaporization.
  • Millimeter Precision: The laser beam is directed under colposcopic vision (with a microscope) to selectively destroy only the diseased tissue, preserving as much of the surrounding healthy tissue as possible.
  • Bleed-Free: The laser immediately cauterizes blood vessels, making the procedure bloodless.
  • Outpatient: It is performed in the doctor’s office or minor procedure room under local anesthesia. The patient returns home the same day, usually in less than an hour.

Key Advantage: Fertility Preservation. For women who wish to have children in the future, laser ablation is the best option. By not removing a large amount of cervical tissue (as with traditional conization), it does not weaken or shorten the cervix, significantly reducing the risk of premature births in future pregnancies.

At IREGCI, we combine technological precision with medical expertise to eliminate disease without leaving scars that affect your reproductive future.

Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation (Functional and Aesthetic)

Beyond Aesthetics: Well-being and Quality of Life. The passage of time, vaginal childbirth, and hormonal changes (such as menopause) cause natural changes in a woman’s intimate area, such as loss of elasticity, dryness, and pelvic floor weakness. At IREGCI, we offer Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation, a non-surgical medical solution designed to restore the function, sensitivity, and appearance of your intimate area, giving you back your self-confidence.

What conditions do we treat with the laser?

This technology is designed to solve problems that affect a woman’s daily and sexual life:

Vaginal Relaxation Syndrome (Amplitude):

Common after childbirth. It’s perceived as a feeling of looseness or loss of friction during sexual intercourse, which diminishes pleasure for both the woman and her partner. The laser tightens the vaginal walls, restoring their natural tone.

For women who experience burning, itching, or pain during intercourse (dyspareunia) due to lack of lubrication. The treatment regenerates the vaginal mucosa, restoring the hydration and elasticity of a younger woman.

Treatment of exposed glandular tissue on the cervix that causes constant discharge or bleeding during intercourse. The laser “vaporizes” this tissue and promotes healthy and permanent healing.

How does the technology work? The procedure uses a fractional (CO2) or Diode laser specifically designed for gynecology.

Collagen Stimulation: The laser’s thermal energy gently heats the deep layers of vaginal tissue without burning the surface.

Regeneration: This heat stimulates cells to produce new collagen and elastin, as well as improving vascularization (blood flow). The result is thicker, more elastic, moisturized, and firmer tissue.

A Quick and Comfortable Procedure. At IREGCI, we understand that your time is valuable.

  • No Surgery: No incisions, no bleeding, and no sutures.
  • Painless: Most patients report only a mild sensation of warmth or vibration. It usually doesn’t require anesthesia (or only topical cream).
  • No Downtime: It’s a “lunchtime” procedure. It lasts approximately 20 minutes, and you can resume your daily activities immediately (only sexual intercourse is restricted for a few days).

At IREGCI, we use technology to help you feel fulfilled, comfortable, and confident in your own body again.

Laser Vaginal Tightening (Treatment of Hyperlaxity)

Restore firmness and tone to your intimate area. Natural life processes in women, such as vaginal childbirth, hormonal changes during menopause, and the simple passage of time, can lead to a significant loss of elasticity and tone in the vaginal walls. This condition, medically known as Vaginal Relaxation Syndrome (or hyperlaxity), often results in a feeling of “loosening” that reduces friction during sexual intercourse, affecting the quality of pleasure for both the woman and her partner.

At IREGCI, we offer a modern, effective, and non-surgical solution to reverse this process: Laser Vaginal Tightening.

En IREGCI, ofrecemos una solución moderna, eficaz y sin cirugía para revertir este proceso: el Tensado Vaginal Láser.

How does laser skin tightening work?

The Science of Collagen Unlike traditional vaginoplasty (a surgery involving a scalpel, stitches and a painful recovery to narrow the canal), the laser uses your body’s own biology to regenerate tissue.

Controlled Thermal Energy:

A special gynecological handpiece that emits laser light pulses (CO2 or Erbium) in 360 degrees is inserted into the vaginal canal.

The laser energy gently heats the deep tissue without damaging the surface. This heat triggers two reactions:

  • Immediate Contraction: Existing collagen fibers shorten and tighten instantly.
  • Neocollagenesis (Most Important): The heat stimulates cells (fibroblasts) to produce new collagen and elastin in the weeks following treatment.
The Result: Natural Tightening The new collagen regenerates the vaginal walls, making them thicker, firmer, and more elastic. This results in a real and functional reduction in the diameter of the vaginal canal, returning it to a state more similar to what it was before childbirth.

Key Benefits of the IREGCI Procedure: This treatment goes beyond the physical; it directly impacts your confidence and intimate well-being:

  • Increased Sexual Satisfaction: By restoring tone and friction, sensitivity and pleasure during intercourse are significantly increased for both partners.
  • Additional Benefit for Incontinence: By strengthening the supporting tissue of the anterior vaginal wall, it helps support the bladder and urethra, improving minor urine leakage during exertion.
  • Outpatient Procedure: It is performed in the office in about 20-30 minutes. It is virtually painless (only a sensation of warmth), does not require general anesthesia, and you can return to your daily routine immediately (only sexual intercourse is restricted for 3 to 5 days).

At IREGCI, we use the most advanced laser technology to help you regain confidence in your body and fully enjoy your intimate life.
