Achieve a faster recovery at IREGCI with Minimally Invasive Surgery
At IREGCI, we believe that effective surgery doesn't have to be aggressive. Our Minimally Invasive Surgery unit uses state-of-the-art technology to resolve complex gynecological problems through tiny incisions or natural orifices.

The Evolution of Surgery: Seeing and Healing Without Large Incisions. Laparoscopy is the flagship technique of modern minimally invasive surgery. Unlike traditional surgery (laparotomy), which requires opening the abdomen with large incisions, laparoscopy allows us to perform complex operations through tiny incisions (just 0.5 to 1 cm). At IREGCI, we use this advanced technology to resolve gynecological problems with maximum precision and minimal trauma to your body.
It is a high-tech process that combines the surgeon’s skill with high-definition video systems:
Two to three tiny incisions (about the size of a buttonhole) are made, usually in the navel and lower abdomen.
Through one of these incisions, we insert the laparoscope, a thin tube with a camera and powerful light at the tip. This projects magnified images of your internal organs onto a monitor, allowing the surgeon to see in much greater detail than with the naked eye.
Through the other small incisions, we use fine, delicate instruments to cut, suture, or remove diseased tissue inside the abdomen.
At IREGCI, we put the most advanced technology in expert hands so that your surgery is just a brief pause in your life, not a traumatic event.

The specialist’s eyes inside your body. Videolaparoscopy is a procedure that combines minimally invasive surgery with advanced digital imaging technology. At IREGCI, we use High Definition (HD) video systems that act like a “powerful magnifying glass,” allowing our specialists to explore the abdominal and pelvic cavities with a level of detail impossible to achieve with the human eye or external studies (such as ultrasound or MRI).
Often, patients suffer from pain or fertility problems whose causes don’t appear in routine examinations. This is where diagnostic videolaparoscopy comes in.
Technology and Safety
At IREGCI, we use Videolaparoscopy to give you accurate answers when other studies have left doubts, offering you a clear diagnosis and effective treatment in a single intervention.

The “Gold Standard” for Uterine Health: Videohysteroscopy is the most advanced medical procedure for visualizing, diagnosing, and treating conditions located exclusively within the uterine cavity (where the baby implants). At IREGCI, we use this technique because it offers an unparalleled advantage: it allows access to the inside of the uterus through the body’s natural orifices, without the need for any incisions or scarring.
It is a delicate and highly precise technique:
A very thin and fine optical instrument called a hysteroscope (only a few millimeters thick) is inserted through the vaginal canal and the cervix.
The hysteroscope has a camera and light that project magnified images onto a high-definition monitor. This allows the doctor to visually “travel” inside the uterus.
A liquid solution is gently introduced to separate the walls of the uterus and allow the entire cavity to be clearly observed.
Two Procedures at IREGCI:
Immediate Recovery: With no muscle tears or abdominal incisions, recovery is surprisingly fast. Most IREGCI patients resume their normal activities the next day, with minimal discomfort, preserving the anatomy of their uterus intact for future pregnancies.

Pioneers in exploring the origin of life. The fallopian tubes are the site of fertilization, but historically they have been the “blind spot” of reproductive medicine. While other centers can only evaluate them indirectly, at IREGCI we have broken that barrier. We are the only center in Latin America that offers videofallopian examination, an advanced micro-endoscopic technique that allows us to navigate and visualize the inside of the fallopian tubes, something impossible with traditional medicine.
It is microsurgery taken to its highest expression. The procedure uses state-of-the-art optical equipment available exclusively at our clinic.
We introduce an ultra-thin flexible endoscope (optical fibers less than one millimeter) through the uterus to channel the fallopian tube.
Unlike laparoscopy (which views the fallopian tube from the outside) or hysterosalpingography (which uses X-rays), we go inside and directly view the lumen of the duct.
We can identify mucosal obstructions, tiny polyps, internal adhesions, or mucosal damage that no other study on the continent can detect.
At IREGCI, we offer you technology that you won't find anywhere else in the region, providing you with answers and solutions where others only find unknowns.
