What is ICSI? Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is one of the most advanced and effective techniques in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). It is a specialized variant of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), specifically designed to overcome severe cases of infertility, allowing couples with complex diagnoses to achieve pregnancy.
Unlike conventional IVF, where thousands of sperm are placed around the egg hoping one will penetrate it naturally, ICSI is a high-precision micromanipulation procedure.
At the IREGCI laboratory, our embryologists carefully select a single sperm based on its optimal morphology and motility. Using a high-powered microscope and specialized microneedles, this sperm is injected directly into the cytoplasm (interior) of the mature egg. This eliminates the natural barriers to fertilization, dramatically facilitating embryo creation.
Very low sperm count (oligozoospermia), low motility (asthenozoospermia) or a large number of sperm with abnormal shapes (teratozoospermia).
Use of sperm obtained directly from the testicle (testicular biopsy) or cryopreserved sperm.
Patients who have attempted conventional IVF without success in fertilization.
Or cases where the egg membrane is more difficult to penetrate.
At IREGCI, we perform this technique with cutting-edge technology, offering real and effective hope for cases that were previously considered difficult to predict.

What is In Vitro Fertilization? In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is the most widely recognized and practiced high-complexity assisted reproductive technology worldwide. Its goal is to achieve the union of the egg and sperm outside the woman’s body, specifically in a controlled laboratory environment that simulates the natural conditions of the fallopian tubes.
The treatment unfolds in several key stages, strictly supervised by our specialists:
Through hormonal medication, we stimulate the ovaries to produce several eggs in the same cycle, thus increasing the chances of success.
Once mature, the eggs are extracted using a simple, quick procedure under sedation.
In our laboratory, the eggs obtained are put into contact with the sperm (previously capacitated and selected) so that fertilization can occur.
The resulting embryos are kept in special incubators for 3 to 5 days. During this time, our embryologists monitor their cell division and quality.
Finally, we select the best quality embryos and gently place them in the mother’s uterus to seek implantation and pregnancy.
Blocked or damaged fallopian tubes.
Moderate or severe endometriosis.
Moderate male factor infertility.
Advanced maternal age.
Previous failures of low-complexity fertility treatments (such as artificial insemination).
At IREGCI, we combine clinical expertise and cutting-edge technology to support you every step of the way, maximizing your chances of bringing a healthy baby home.

What is the INVOcell method? INVOcell is a revolutionary technology in the field of reproductive medicine that offers a unique alternative to conventional In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). It is the first medically approved intravaginal culture system designed to allow fertilization and early embryo development to occur inside a woman’s body, rather than in an artificial laboratory incubator.
The process combines advanced science with the body’s natural biology:
As with other treatments, egg retrieval and sperm preparation are performed.
Instead of leaving the eggs and sperm in a culture dish in the laboratory, our specialists introduce them together into the small INVOcell device.
The device is gently inserted into the patient’s vaginal cavity. It will remain there for 3 to 5 days. During this time, the woman’s body acts as a natural incubator, providing the ideal temperature, pH, and physiological environment for fertilization and embryonic development.
After this time, the device is removed, the quality of the embryos obtained is evaluated, and the best one is selected to be transferred to the uterus.
Greater emotional connection: The patient participates physically in the fertilization and development process from day one.
Stable environment: It utilizes the mother’s own biological conditions to protect the embryos.
Accessibility: By reducing the need for complex laboratory incubators, it is often a more cost-effective option without sacrificing success rates for eligible patients.
At IREGCI, we are committed to this technology to offer you options that adapt not only to your medical needs, but also to your personal preferences.

What is Artificial Insemination? Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is a low-complexity technique that aims to facilitate the natural meeting of the egg and sperm. It is a simple and minimally invasive procedure that involves depositing a semen sample, previously optimized in the laboratory, directly into the mother’s uterus at the exact moment of ovulation.
The treatment is performed in simple steps and does not require hospital admission or anesthesia:
We monitor the patient’s cycle (natural or with mild medication) to ensure follicle growth and accurately determine the day and time of ovulation.
This is the key step. In our laboratory, we process the semen sample (from the partner or a sperm bank) using a washing and selection technique called “capacitation.” This allows us to separate the most motile and healthy sperm, discarding the immotile ones or seminal plasma.
During the consultation, using a very thin and flexible cannula, the specialist introduces the concentrated sperm sample directly into the uterine cavity. It is a quick procedure, similar to a gynecological exam, and completely painless.
Mild male factor: Slight alterations in sperm count or motility.
Cervical factor: When cervical mucus obstructs the natural passage of sperm.
Unexplained infertility (UE): When basic tests are normal but pregnancy is not achieved.
Mild endometriosis.
Women without a male partner: Through the use of a sperm bank.
At IREGCI, we consider Artificial Insemination as the ideal first step for many patients, offering an effective, convenient and accessible solution to achieve pregnancy.

What is our Gamete Bank? IREGCI’s Sperm and Egg Bank is a vital solution for patients who cannot use their own gametes to achieve pregnancy. It is a comprehensive program that manages the donation, testing, cryopreservation, and storage of eggs and sperm, allowing men and women to fulfill their dream of having a child through donation.
The safety of your future baby is our absolute priority. Therefore, our donor selection protocols are extremely rigorous. We do not accept just any sample; we carry out a thorough screening process that includes:
Screening for infectious diseases (HIV, Hepatitis, Syphilis, etc.) and review of family medical history.
Studies to minimize the risk of transmission of hereditary diseases.
Professional interviews to ensure the donor’s mental health and commitment.
Only donors with above-average fertility parameters are accepted (excellent sperm count or ovarian reserve).
At IREGCI, we guarantee the strict confidentiality and anonymity of our donors in accordance with current regulations. Furthermore, our medical team conducts a meticulous matching process to ensure the greatest possible phenotypic compatibility (physical characteristics such as blood type, eye color, skin tone, and hair color) between the donor and the intended parents.

What is Regenerative Medicine in Fertility? Ovarian and Endometrial Rejuvenation represents the most innovative frontier in reproductive medicine. These are biological therapies designed to restore and revitalize the function of reproductive organs, offering a new opportunity to women facing low ovarian reserve or implantation problems, who wish to attempt pregnancy with their own eggs before resorting to donation.
The main procedure is based on the use of autologous (from the patient’s own) Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP).
A small blood sample is taken from the patient, similar to a conventional clinical analysis.
The blood is processed in a special centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets, releasing a large amount of Growth Factors. These proteins are powerful natural stimulators of cell regeneration and vascularization.
The growth factor concentrate is injected directly into the target tissue.
It involves injecting plasma-enriched plasma directly into the ovaries. The goal is to “awaken” or reactivate dormant (residual) follicles in women with low ovarian reserve or early menopause, in order to obtain eggs for in vitro fertilization treatment.
The plasma is applied inside the uterine cavity. It is designed for patients with a thin or refractory endometrium (one that does not thicken sufficiently with medication). The growth factors help regenerate the tissue, improve the thickness and receptivity of the endometrium, creating the ideal environment for embryo implantation.
Women with low ovarian reserve (low AMH levels)
Patients with premature ovarian failure (early menopause).
Women with a history of recurrent implantation failure.
Patients with endometrium that does not reach the necessary thickness (less than 7 mm) for embryo transfer.
At IREGCI, we use these cutting-edge techniques to enhance your own body's biology, exploring all possibilities to achieve your pregnancy.

What is Andrology? Andrology is the medical specialty dedicated to the comprehensive study of men’s sexual and reproductive health. In the context of fertility, its role is fundamental, as it is estimated that the male factor is involved in approximately 40-50% of cases of difficulty conceiving. At IREGCI, we understand that fertility is a shared responsibility, which is why we provide specialized care to evaluate and optimize male reproductive capacity.
Our andrology laboratory has advanced technology to perform precise studies that go far beyond a basic analysis:
At IREGCI, we offer a safe and professional environment for men, ensuring that both partners receive the appropriate diagnosis and treatment to achieve their family goals.
